Airborne Equipment and Parachute Repair Shop

The new Airborne Parachute Maintenance Facility at Aviano Air Force Base is intended to support the transformation of the US Army in Aviano, Italy. The project master plan includes the airborne parachute shop and adjacent mechanical structures, a tree-lined pedestrian walkway, and a parking lot.
As LEED consultants, ODG recommended significant energy and water saving strategies throughout the 40,609 gsf repair shop and project master plan. The project is located in a dense development of a minimum of 60,000 gsf per acre net. ODG provided sustainable strategies for the storm water management plan and landscaping plan. The project is designed to be one of the first to obtain a LEED Silver rating on the Italian Peninsula. The project cost is estimated at $5.6 million and work will be completed in 2012.
