Alumnae Hall Renovation and Addition*

Trinity College, NE Washington, DC

This project included the renovation and addition to the existing five story historic Alumnae Hall located on the Trinity College Campus.  The existing limestone facade was restored, 67,000 gsf of interior space was renovated and remodeled to accommodate a new student union, and a three story, 10,500 gsf commercial kitchen and servery was added to the existing structure. The space renovated for the new mixed-use student union includes a bookstore, dining hall, cafeteria, and exercise room, as well as health clinic rooms, classrooms, dormitories, and offices.

The facade of this addition was designed to reflect the historic character of the surrounding campus buildings. The addition matches the original exterior brickwork and clay tile roof.  The Phase I of this project included renovation of the lowest level and was completed in 2003. The cost of construction for this project was $2,000,000.

Ms. Olshesky served as Project Architect on the Design Team.
